Pioneers in Photonic Sensing for Environmental Monitoring

CATS Global Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd is an exclusive partner of CATS-GLOBAL of India, which specializes in innovating photonic sensing technology with advanced laser as the source. Our advanced photonic sensing laser technology is deployed to monitor atmospheric, hydrospheric, and lithospheric components. Our Indian counterpart have deployed this technology for multiple use cases for more than ten years.

Our Services

In line with global regulatory requirements, our photonic sensing technology enables us to provide Compliance Audit and Monitoring Services in the fields of air and water qualities, infrastructural ‘health’ conditions, security, and surveillance.

Auditing and Monitoring Air and Water Quality

The importance of such audit and monitoring services is crucial for a small country such as Malaysia. It was reported that Malaysia produced 8.6 metric tons of carbon emissions per person as of 2022, which is regarded as above the global equity (Global Carbon Budget, 2023). This poses an urgency for industries to measure, monitor, and manage their carbon emissions swiftly. To this end, CATS Global Technologies presents the following services that can help industries mitigate their negative impacts toward Mother Earth.

Air and water

With over 4 million deaths per year due to air pollution, real-time pollution monitoring with high spatial resolution and alerts is important to minimise calamities and reduce exposure. Carbon emissions by industries, landfills, and livestock can be monitored, measured, and reported through our photonic sensors. For water, our technology can provide monitoring services for dangerous waves and tides, and even for tsunamis, ocean pollution, and oil spills.

Infrastructure Health via Vibration Condition Monitoring (VCM)

Unscheduled downtime presents a substantial obstacle for manufacturers, leading to $ billions of yearly losses. Equipment availability directly influences plant productivity and output, rendering unanticipated shutdowns caused by inadequately maintained equipment highly expensive. Vibration condition monitoring is the collection and analysis of data from diverse sensors and monitoring apparatus. These devices are strategically positioned to measure parameters such as vibration, temperature, pressure, and electrical signals from equipment of concern. The gathered data is analysed to detect anomalies patterns, and trends that signify probable problems or departures from standard operating settings. Upon detecting abnormal behaviour or probable defects, alerts or notifications are produced to inform maintenance workers. Proactive maintenance can be employed to avert breakdowns and enhance the overall maintenance strategy.

CATS Global Technologies’ VCM has several advantages, including:

Security and Surveillance

Our photonic technology is extremely useful in security and surveillance activities, including identification of small and slow-moving targets for the purpose of:

Our Technology

CATS Global Technologies’ compliance technological services is driven through the photonic sensing technology platform. The photonic sensors are essential in contemporary society, transforming multiple industries by their efficacy and accuracy. These sensors employ photons to detect, measure, and analyse many properties like light intensity, wavelength, phase, and polarisation. Their primary advantage is the capacity to provide highly sensitive, rapid, and precise measurements across diverse applications. In healthcare, they are utilised in medical imaging technologies such as optical coherence tomography for non-invasive diagnostics and tissue imaging. Moreover, photonic sensors have revolutionised environmental monitoring by enabling real-time measurement of pollutants, gases, and other compounds in air and water. Defence and security, where they are employed in surveillance, reconnaissance, and laser-based defence systems. The key difference between photonic sensors as opposed to electronic sensors are:
